Earth and Environmental Sciences 

Position Summary:

The EES Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at California State University, Fresno seeks applicants for the Part-Time Temporary Faculty Applicant Pool. The EES Department is looking for instructors to teach the following courses:

  • EES 1. Natural Disasters and Earth Resources
  • EES 4. Environmental Science
  • EES 9. Introduction to Earth Science
  • EES 112. Planet Earth through Time
  • EES 167. Oceans and Atmosphere and Climate
  • EES 168. California's Earth System
  • NSCI 4. Science and Nonsense: Facts, Fads, and Critical Thinking
  • NSCI 115. Environmental Earth and Life Science

 

Overview:

The EES Department prepares students to pursue a broad range of careers in academia, industry, government and teaching, by providing them with educational training and the indoor and outdoor opportunities to obtain a solid foundation in the Earth and Environmental Sciences.

Earth and Environmental Sciences are interdisciplinary, integrating principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, as well as quantitative and critical thinking skills, to address geological and environmental issues related to the solid earth, the oceans, and the atmosphere. To this end, the Department's programs and courses are designed to encompass a broad spectrum of basic scientific disciplines.

 

Required Education:

Required: M.S. in Geology or equivalent accreditation

 

Required Experience:

Evidence of successful teaching experience is required.  Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred: Ph.D. in Geology or equivalent accreditation
