Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,372 to $5,500 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $4,372 to $10,792 per month

This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position. Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

 

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director for the Center for Faculty Excellence or designee, an Instructional Designer provides instructional design support to faculty, staff, and students. Specifically, Instructional Designers are expected to serve as the primary resource for academic applications of technology and development of course content, assessment plans, and presentations; as well as to provide training and development support to faculty and staff.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Experience with course building and delivery using a learning management system
  • Background in effective instructional technology and technology-mediated course design
  • Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning principles, pedagogical practices, and the techniques for creation of accessible digital instructional materials
  • Background and knowledge of Blackboard Ally or equivalent accessibility tool for course material
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong procedural skills
  • Excellent collaboration and team-building skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, computer science, information systems, communications, or a related field
  • Three years of closely related experience with instructional design responsibilities in higher education
  • Experience creating, managing and executing communication plans
  • Experience with course building and delivery using a learning management system
