Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,288 - $3,452 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,288 - $6,347 per month

  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision and direction of the Dean, this position provides administrative and technical duties requiring knowledge of methods and procedures in support for the College.  Responsibilities will include: overseeing the departments’ class schedules and labs within the college; maintaining office assignments, administrative calendar and Summer Arts account billing; and processing stipends; supervising the coordination of special events; coordinating student registration for Academic Decathlon; and perform other related duties as assigned.  This employee is the managing editor for The Press, and coordinates the College’s study abroad programs.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Working knowledge of budget and purchasing practices, policies and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as positive interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques
  • Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities
  • Ability to use standard office automation equipment (multi-phone line system, copies, facsimile, computer) and software including Microsoft Word (mail merge) Excel (formula driven spreadsheets), databases, email and internet

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs
  • A minimum of five years recent progressive professional administrative work experience, preferably within an administrative unit
