Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,906 to $4,180 per month 

Full classification Salary Range: $3,906 to $5,544 per month

This is a full-time, probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean in the Kremen School of Education and Human Development and the lead work direction of the Credential Analyst II, the candidate will assist in the credential process to gain knowledge of the full scope of the credential process, including, but not limited to the coordination, technical support, and monitoring of candidates through completion of their application for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing along with verification of compliance with University policies and procedural requirements. The incumbent will support the Credential Analyst II to communicate with students regarding credential requirements, in coordination with Kremen School and other university program coordinators. Assist in the processing of state credential and advanced credential applications for credential students is conducted in accordance with CSU admission policies and Title 5 of the State of California Code of Regulations.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Learn and interpret a wide variety of complex policies and procedures and support the mission of the department, school, and university related to state credentialing.
  • Interpret for others and correctly apply the California Education Code and other such regulations pertaining to the issuance of the various credentials, certificates and permits for public school teaching and service in California.
  • Understand higher education grading systems and applicable CSU Board of Trustee regulations.
  • Understand and abide with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and State of California policy regarding the confidentiality of records.
  • Evaluate academic qualifications, transcripts, and/or admission applications to determine credit to be granted toward credentials, certificates and permits.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
  • Three years of clerical experience and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience.
  • Documented experience working in a complex operation that utilizes workflow system for management of records including data and statistics.
