Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $2912 - $3200 a month 

Full classification Salary Range: $2912 - $4592 a month

This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Vice President for University Advancement (VPUA), this position provides day-to-day office support to the Vice President and the Office of the VPUA.  The incumbent performs a full range of clerical and secretarial duties at varying levels of complexity that require knowledge of office methods and procedures and that involve the use of judgment and discretion.  The Administrative Assistant is committed to excellence, teamwork, and exemplary service in order to support the Vice President’s priorities and vision for the division.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general office protocols and practices.
  • Knowledge of basic methods for research, analysis, and presenting information.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of budget to actual expense tracking, travel arrangements, purchase orders and expense invoices, payroll timekeeping, and record-keeping methods and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a high school degree or equivalent
  • Two years of related office work experience in a professional setting.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with California State University, Fresno. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment. The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

This position may be a "designated position" under the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
