Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,276 - $3,520 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $3,276 - $5,148 per month

This is a regular, full-time, probationary, non-exempt position.

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies and the lead work direction of the Administrative Analyst, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support for Program Review (undergraduate and graduate), the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects (CPHS), Accreditation (University and programs both undergraduate and graduate), and the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies Assignments and projects are varied and complex with long work cycles and varying deadlines. The incumbent will also provide support to the Office of the Provost on special projects and assignments, as needed. Administrative support projects involve performing coordinating, prioritizing, and/or monitoring through their completion.  Interpersonal contacts are varied and often at the higher level and tend to involve a broad range of problem-solving activities. This position is expected to use general office equipment and office support technology and systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and use online systems to enter data and generate reports.

  • Analyze data, make accurate projections and effectively write reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to set own priorities and complete tasks with minimal or no supervision.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents
  • Three years of progressively responsible clerical experience with a wide variety of duties and responsibilities

 

Department Summary

The Dean of Undergraduate Studies works with faculty on academic planning and policy issues including curriculum development, program review, changes to the general education program and undergraduate research.

The Dean sits on all committees dealing with student academic petitions and disqualifications and also oversees the Scheduling Office as well as the production of the University Catalog.

The Dean also works with the directors of the Smittcamp Family Honors College.

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
