Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $3,120 per month

Full classification Salary Range: $3,120 - $4,592 per month

  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Department Chair and Administrative Support Coordinator, responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to providing full range of clerical and technical support-for daily operation of the Department of Physical Therapy including the clinical education program and the Gait, Balance, and Mobility Research and Education Center. Provide assistance to full-time faculty and part-time faculty, students, campus staff and members of the community who need assistance.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies and procedures
  • Proficient organizing and prioritizing skills to complete multiple work assignments within designated timelines
  • Possess good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective mastery of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Ability to:
    • Operate standard office equipment
    • Apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough, and at time creative solutions
    • Manage the department web site and maintain listservs and databases
    • Work in a flexible collaborative manner with faculty, students and other staff
    • Communicate effectively to faculty, students, administrators, and the general public both over the telephone, email and face-to-face
    • Work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Two years of recent, responsible, general office clerical experiences which includes full functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices (a combination of closely related work experience and post-secondary education may be substituted)
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat and/or other comparable programs
  • Customer service experience


Department Summary

The Department of Physical Therapy is one of seven departments in the College of Health and Human Services and offers an entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
