Compensation and Benefits


Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,170 - $4,400 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,170 - $7,545 per month 

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.

 The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Lead Systems Analyst, the Financial Aid Systems Specialist supports the mission of the department and the university by maintaining financial aid business processes and their interface with information systems.  This is a vital position in the Financial Aid & Scholarships office, which also works collaboratively with a variety of University departments and their systems. Active participation in relevant committees/user group/list serves enhances this role. The Financial Aid Systems Specialist must combine a high level of information systems competencies with financial aid regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Skill in the research, development and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form.
  • Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and one year of professional administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience in related to systems administration or computer science

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
