Assistant Coordinator of Latino/a Programs and Services & Cross Cultural Programs and Services

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Wage: $4,476 per month 

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,476 - $6,365 per month

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of the Cross Cultural and Gender Center (CCGC), the incumbent performs professional student services work and tasks in accordance with established work procedure to plan, coordinate, and assist educational, social and co-curricular programs and events such as lectures, discussion groups, workshops, concerts, films, conferences and other special events. The incumbent will assist with maintaining programs and resources focusing on all Latino/a and cross cultural communities, student leadership opportunities while providing support to other affinity groups. The Cross Cultural and Gender Center is home to a broad variety of programs and services, including but not limited to:

    • Asian Pacific Islander
    • Cross Cultural
    • Latino/a
  • Gender Programs and Services
  • LGBTQ+ Programs and Services
  • Leadership Development


Key Qualifications

  • Effectively organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Listening skills and ability to respond effectively to concerns and problems, including difficult or unpleasant situations.
  • An appreciation and understanding of working in an inclusive, engaging and diverse college environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct workshops, seminars, and training.
  • Understand and abide with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), State of California policy regarding the confidentiality of records, and Title IX policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain program records and provide data for review in developing and implementing strategies and activities to support student success.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job‑related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Two years of professional experience in Cultural programs and services, student development and student activities programs or closely related programs and services. A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
