Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,000 to $3,333.33 per month


This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is not eligible for remote work pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

Job Summary

The Athletic Business Office Coordinator (12-month, non-exempt status, at-will) will be responsible for reviewing, auditing, and approving assigned athletic department purchase orders, supplier invoice request, p-card transactions, expense reports, spend authorizations, and other transactions. They will be responsible for understanding all institutional and department policies as it relates to reviewing of assigned documents. The position will also assist in monitoring the Athletic Department trade program, serve as the business office liaison to the department courtesy car program, and other business office responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Business Operations. This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), non-exempt position. Athletic Corporation employees are at-will.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); office methods and procedures; statistical and mathematical presentation of data;
  • Strong organization and communication skills, and detail oriented
  • A positive, pro-active attitude
  • The ability to:
    • Prepare complex financial statements and reports
    • Understand and interpret laws and rules
    • Apply accounting principles to the analysis of complex accounting problems
    • Analyze and interpret accounting data
    • Utilize problem-solving techniques in finding solutions to complex accounting problems
    • Make sound decisions and recommendations regarding accounting activities
    • Communicate effectively with others inside and outside the unit, including conveying complex and technical professional accounting information to non-Accountants.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Two years’ work experience on a university campus with budgets and accounting.

The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

This position may be a "designated position" under the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
