Compensation and Benefits


Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,797 - $6,031 per month (Steps 1-3) 

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,797 - $8,445 per month

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

The Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (VPSAEM) serves as a strategic partner and senior administrative leader within a large, complex, and highly visible division at California State University, Fresno.

This position provides advanced-level executive, operational, and project management support, ensuring the effective coordination of divisional priorities aligned with institutional goals related to enrollment, student success, retention, and graduation.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, judgment, and discretion, the incumbent supports the Vice President with administrative and operational details, while simultaneously contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and execution of key initiatives. The role serves as a central liaison between the VPSAEM, campus leadership, CSU Chancellor’s Office, external partners, and the community.

In addition, this position plays a critical role in:

  • Driving strategic communications and messaging
  • Coordinating high-impact projects and initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with CSU policies and executive directives
  • Optimizing workflow, decision-making, and executive effectiveness

  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-level executive operations and strategic initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop recommendations
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level writing and presentations
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters

    Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in related field and four years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

This position may be a "designated position" under the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
