Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary hiring range is $5,274 to $5,597 per month (Steps 1 - 4), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The salary range for this classification is $5,274 to $7,684 per month.
This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
The Executive Assistant to the Office of the President provides advanced administrative, operational, and workflow support to ensure the effective daily functioning of the President’s Office. Working under the general direction of the Chief Communications Officer and Chief of Staff, the position serves as the lead administrative coordinator for front office operations, including office workflow, document routing, meeting and event logistics, records coordination, constituent intake, student assistant support, and administrative follow-through.
This position supports the President’s Office by maintaining efficient systems, ensuring timely routing of information, coordinating logistics, and providing responsive service to internal and external constituents. The position may provide backup administrative support for presidential scheduling, correspondence, meetings, and travel in coordination with the Presidential Aide.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of:
- Executive office operations, administrative systems, and organizational practices in complex institutions.
- Principles of professional judgment, confidentiality, discretion, and executive-level service.
- University policies and procedures related to travel, procurement, hospitality, budget, records, and administrative operations.
- Budget tracking, expense reconciliation, purchasing practices, and financial documentation.
- Project coordination, meeting management, follow-up systems, and process improvement.
- Higher education, public-sector, or shared governance environments.
- Skill/Ability to:
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, initiative, and political sensitivity in a high-profile executive office.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects with shifting priorities, frequent interruptions, and time-sensitive matters.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external audiences.
- Draft, edit, and prepare polished executive-level documents and correspondence.

Education and Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience providing high-level administrative support or related experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing executive-level support to a senior leader, cabinet member, president, vice president, CEO, or comparable executive.
- Experience in higher education, public administration, government, nonprofit, or other complex mission-driven organization.
- Familiarity with CSU or Fresno State policies, systems, and organizational structure.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, financial systems, procurement systems, travel systems, or comparable enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated experience managing executive calendars, confidential communications, and high-level constituent relations.
- Strong project coordination and follow-through skills.
- Experience preparing executive briefings, reports, presentations, meeting materials, or correspondence.
- Bilingual or multilingual ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, student success, and service to diverse communities.
