Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,338 - $3,505 per month
Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,338 - $4,913 per month
- This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. The Administrative Support Assistant II (ASAII), under the direction of the department chair, provides moderately complex clerical support to the Department of Nursing. The primary role of this position is to assist with clinical issues as listed below. Other activities include maintaining files and records, processing documents and records, gathering data, preparing standard reports and interacting with and providing recommendations for problem resolution. This position will have direct contact with faculty, students, campus staff, healthcare institutions, and members of the community who need assistance.
General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
Fluency in using standard office software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, email, calendar, etc.).
Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas and instructions.

Education and Experience
Completion of a high school program or its equivalent.
Two years of experience in an office environment.
A history of regular attendance, punctuality, and positive performance evaluations.
Three years of experience in an office environment.
Record keeping experience.
Work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical solutions.
Manage and set priorities.
Work independently with frequent interruptions.
The School of Nursing is one of seven departments in the College of Health and Human Services and offers an undergraduate program which leads to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a postbaccalaureate School Nurse Services Credential Program, a graduate program leading to a Master of Science in Nursing, a Post-Master's Nurse Practitioner Credential Program, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
