Transfer Credit Analyst
(Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Non-Exempt)

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $3,518 per month 

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,518 - $6,791 per month

  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under general supervision, the position provides primary analyst support for the coding of transfer credit rules utilizing the uAchieve software. Provides support and works closely with the degree analyst encoder to produce an automated degree progress report (DPR). Participates in the development and enhancement of office automation. Primary responsibilities include the analysis of transfer credit with respect to campus and CSU system policy and ensuring that the uAchieve system is holding to these policies.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of general practices and procedures regarding transfer credit.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts regarding transfer credit.
  • Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them.
  • Knowledge of computer office systems and ability to use a broad range of technology, systems, and software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, Google apps).
  • Skill/Ability to:
    • Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of academic policies and procedures relating to and impacting transfer credit.
    • Ability to analyze data and administrative problems and make sound policy and procedural recommendations for their solutions.
    • Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
    • Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and prepare detailed written reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to create, analyze and evaluate program information and provide data for review in developing and implementing strategies and activities to meet programmatic goals and enhance processes.
    • Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
    • Preferred Skills:
      • Knowledge of utilizing uAchieve software
      • Experience using Peoplesoft
      • Knowledge of University catalogs (TES)
      • Experience using ASSIST, C-ID, and Exam Credit policies
