Compensation and Benefits


Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,877 - $6,236 per month (Steps 1-4)

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,877 - $8,561 per month

  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

The Division Budget Analyst, under the general direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management provides advanced-level financial and administrative expertise and leadership to support multiple departments and/or a significant program area within the division. The incumbent serves in an advisory role to the Vice President with strategic financial planning and decision-making. This position functions independently with a high degree of judgment and accountability to ensure effective budget administration, financial management, and policy compliance. The incumbent is expected to independently analyze complex budgetary issues, make strategic recommendations, and lead special projects to enhance the division’s fiscal and operational efficiency. The position will also analyze and assess the return on investment for programs within the division and provide the Vice President with budget allocations.

    Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and ability to collaborate across organizational lines
  • Expertise in using financial systems, data analysis tools, and software packages
  • Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved
  • Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration, finance or a closely related field and four years of related professional experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
